The morning of September 28 th, 2013 I arrived a few hours before the festival for briefing… So I applied!Īfter several interviews I finally got the call back that I was granted the opportunity to volunteer I was ecstatic! So I looked into how I could do so, and then I came across this opportunity with Insomniac and was instantly drawn towards their motives an organization. How did I hear about this? After the tragedy that happened at Electric Zoo in New York this past summer, I felt it was important for me to seek ways to encourage other people to rave safely and to someone prevent this from occurring again. The reason I bring up Ground Control is because I want to share my experience with you.
If you see them at the next Insomniac event I encourage you to approach them if you need assistance or just want to make a new friend! You will find Ground Control very approachable and running around spreading the love.īasically, Ground Control was created to help Insomniac festival-goers to stay Ground Control is devoted to helping others in any given situation. Ground Control is a team of dedicated volunteers who ensure that everyone at an Insomniac festival is having a safe and memorable experience. If you are unaware about what ground control is you may have seen packs of people wearing purple tanks, fanny packs, and holding light swords at Insomniac festivals.
BEYOND WONDERLAND OUTFIT FREE
However, this year was a lot more special… I had the opportunity of volunteering as a member of the Ground Control team for Insomniac and was granted a free ticket for the following day for simply volunteering my services. I’ve decided to start with my most recent event, which was Beyond Wonderland 2013.īeyond Wonderland, is an Alice in Wonderland themed music festival that caters to electronic dance music, which occurs in the Bayarea towards the end of September every year Last year I spent my 21 st birthday at this event and had a blast. So why not blog about something I love to do right?
